A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check is provided through the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) and accredited agencies. This police check will check an applicant’s name against a national criminal records database. An Australian Federal Police (AFP) Check, is slightly different. The AFP can only provide National Police Checks for certain reasons.

One commencement of identity document:

• (a) full Australian birth certificate (not an extract or birth card)
• (b) current Australian passport (not expired)

• (d) ImmiCard issued by Department of Home Affairs (previously the Department of Immigration and Border Protection) that enables the cardholder to prove their visa and/or migration status and enroll in services
• (e) certificate of identity issued by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to refugees and non-Australian citizens for entry to Australia
• (f) document of identity issued by DFAT to Australian citizens or persons who have the nationality of a Commonwealth country for travel purposes

One primary use in the community document:

• (a) current Australian drivers licence, learner permit or provisional licence issued by a state or territory, showing a signature and/or photo and the same name as claimed

Simply log in and download a copy from our website. These are only retained for the prescribed period of time set out as a requirement by the ACIC which states that 'nor more than 12 months'. Copies are only available to those people that have processed Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Checks using our service. We do not have access to other checks processed by other organisations.
